NBA Finals Odds: Warriors vs. Celtics
The third seed out of the Western Conference Golden State Warriors punched their sixth NBA Finals ticket in eight seasons when they upended the Dallas Mavericks in five games. The Warriors have maintained their status as the favorite to the win the Finals since the semifinal round. The second-seeded Boston Celtics reached their first Finals since 2008 when they beat the Miami Heat in six/seven games.
The Warriors are () favorites in the series, and the Celtics are () road underdogs in Game 1. The pair split their regular season series, interestingly with both road teams sealing wins. Jayson Tatum led scoring both times, averaging 26.5 points in those two games.
A possible leg-up for the Celtics? They lead the NBA in three-point defense, with opponents hitting just 33.5% of their shots beyond the arc on the season. The Warriors are also successful defending the perimeter, ranking eighth in that metric (34.4%). Both teams rely heavily on three-point shooting, potentially leading to inefficient games should both defenses hold up.
Game 1 tips off Thursday, June 2 at 9:00 p.m. ET at Chase Center in San Francisco.
