Local organizations organize for Eastern Kentucky flood relief – Elizabethtown News Enterprise

Many in Elizabethtown and Hardin County have gone to work collecting donations since devastating flooding hit many areas of Eastern Kentucky, leaving at least 37 dead and many more injured, stranded or missing. The severe flooding also has left hundreds without homes and thousands without power.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear announced the latest death toll Monday evening on Twitter, stating “We are ending the day with more heartbreaking news out of Eastern Kentucky. We can confirm the death toll has now risen to 37, with so many more still missing. Let us pray for these families and come together to wrap our arms around our fellow Kentuckians.”
