Dawson County Public Library kicks off summer reading programs – Dawson Community News

With school officially out and summer vacation in full swing, the Dawson County Public Library is kicking off its summer reading programs, with exciting programs for all ages.

Beginning on June 1, children, teens and adults alike can sign up for an account on the library’s Beanstack website to keep track of how many hours they each read this summer. Each family member can create their own account, or all members of a family can keep track of their reading on one account.

Those interested in participating can enroll in the library’s “Summer Reading Challenge” and earn badges and a chance to win prizes for reading hours logged through their account.

For every two hours read, children aged 0 through fifth grade can earn a chance to win one of the library’s many raffle prizes. For every two books teens in sixth through 12th grade read, they can earn a chance to win one of two $100 Walmart gift cards. For every two books read, adults can earn a chance to win a gift bag.
