LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, cases were bound over to the county grand jury against Kaiden Nagel, 19, Brenda Lane, Columbiana, and Aydn Hillier, 18, New England Square, New Waterford, each charged with breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly breaking into an unoccupied structure on Jan. 22 in East Palestine and being found inside.

A case was bound over to the county grand jury against Andy Yoder Jr., 28, Bergholz, charged with a fifth-degree felony possession of drugs count for allegedly possessing a schedule II drug during a traffic stop Jan. 21 in Lisbon. A pretrial was set May 16 for a misdemeanor charge of improper/expired registration from the same traffic stop.

A fifth-degree felony charge of improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle was dismissed against Galphin Chavous, 30, Lincolton, Ga., who was accused of possessing a loaded pistol under the driver’s seat of his vehicle during a traffic stop Dec. 31, 2022 in Lisbon. He was fined $1,025 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program for physical control, amended from operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, left of center, plate light and traffic control device. His driver’s license was suspended for one year with driving privileges granted and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

A pretrial was set April 13 for Dannielle Gibson, 34, state Route 267, East Liverpool, charged with theft for allegedly on several occasions making fraudulent returns on gift cards from customers bringing items into the Calcutta Walmart for returns while she was working there, putting the amount of the return on a separate gift card and keeping the money to spend herself. Police were called to the store on Jan. 25 regarding the alleged employee theft.

Benjamin Persohn, 42, Alton Street, East Liverpool, was fined $500 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for theft for stealing $293 worth of merchandise from the Calcutta Walmart on Oct. 12, 2022. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.

A private review was set Feb. 14 for Pacience Trent, 34, Garrettsville, charged with being a fugitive from justice from the state of Kentucky for theft of identity on Jan. 30 in Lisbon.

Shawnee Jenkins, 26, North Shady Lane, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for theft for failing to scan and pay for $220 worth of items at the Calcutta Walmart on Jan. 24. She was also ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

Cody Andrews, 22, state Route 170, East Palestine, was fined $565 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 80 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, leaving seven days to serve, for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs second offense and left of center. His driver’s license was suspended for two years, with driving privileges granted, and he was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.

David A. Young, 43, Padgett Road, Elkton, was fined $1,205 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for physical control, amended from OVI, open container, no seat belt, no license and failure to control. His driver’s license was suspended for one year and he was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.

Julianna Marie Zupp-Deichman, 26, Youngstown, was fined $975 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended, with credit for three days served in a driver intervention program for physical control, amended from OVI, and marked lanes. Her driver’s license was suspended for a year, with driving privileges granted, and she was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Feb. 6 for Jordan Swain, 35, Mattix Road, Lisbon, charged with a third-degree felony having a weapon while under disability and misdemeanors of obstructing official business, two counts of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension and back up lights required for allegedly having a firearm in his possession and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Jan. 30 in Lisbon while under felony indictment for a drug charge. A probation violation hearing was also set Feb. 6 for charges of physical control, use of unauthorized plate and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle from 2021.

William Felger, 76, East North Avenue, East Palestine, was fined $650 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 27 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for physical control and failure to control. His driver’s license was suspended for 180 days and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

Lauren Humphreys, 36, Cook Road, Columbiana, was fined $925 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and three days served in a driver intervention program, for OVI and marked lanes. Her driver’s license was suspended for a year, with driving privileges granted, and she was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

A pretrial was set April 10 for Tori Teagarden, 25, East Washington Street, Lisbon, charged with OVI first offense and OVI breath first offense.

A pretrial was set April 11 for Gary L. Smith, 62, Warren, charged with driving under suspension and marked lanes.

Kerran Saini, 44, Pittsburgh, Pa., was fined $500 and given a suspended 60-day jail term for physical control and ordered to complete 40 hours community service. His driver’s license was suspended for 180 days. Charges of OVI and OVI breath were dismissed.

Homer Swanson IV, 26, U.S. Route 30, Hanoverton, was fined $225 for driving under suspension and failure to control.

David Young, 45, Bloomfield Road, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.

Tyler Beadnell, 19, Foundry Hill Road, Salineville, was fined $35 for speeding and had a charge of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer dismissed, but with court costs taxed to Beadnell. The charges stemmed from a traffic stop on Nov. 28, 2022 in Perry Township.
