Amazon Business Prime American Express Card Review | The Ascent – The Motley Fool

Top perks

These are the top features of the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card.

No annual fee

There is no annual fee to use the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card. If you’re looking for a business credit card without a yearly fee, this card meets that requirement.

Earn rewards

You can earn rewards when using the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card to make U.S. purchases at:

  • Amazon Business
  • AWS
  • Whole Foods Market

Prime members earn 5% and non-Prime members earn 3%. There’s a spending cap of $120,000 each calendar year to earn these rewards. After the above spending cap is reached, eligible purchases earn 1% rewards.

All cardmembers also earn the following rewards:

  • 2% back on purchases at U.S. restaurants, gas stations, and wireless telephone services purchased directly from service providers
  • 1% back on other purchases

Optional 0% interest 60- or 90-day payment terms on eligible purchases

Cardmembers also have the option to get 0% interest payment terms on eligible purchases:

  • Prime members: Eligible for 90-day payment terms
  • Non-Prime members: Eligible for 60-day payment terms

Keep in mind that if you choose to use these 0% interest payment terms, you’ll be ineligible to earn 5% or 3% back in rewards. You must choose one or the other.

If you need to make a large purchase, this offer could give you more time to pay it off without worrying about expensive interest charges.

Amazon gift card offer

New cardholders with Prime can earn a $125 Amazon gift card. There is no minimum spend requirement to earn this bonus. Once approved for the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card, you’ll earn this bonus reward. Non-Prime cardholders earn a $100 gift card.

No foreign transaction fees

If you plan to use this credit card while traveling internationally, you can do so confidently. No foreign transaction fees are charged when using the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card. Other cards with these fees usually charge 3% per foreign transaction.

High spending cap

While there is a yearly spending cap for the bonus rewards, it’s a high limit. You can earn rewards on up to $120,000 in spending per year — which is much higher than many other rewards credit cards.
